Umahi imposes curfew in Ebonyi community over killings, destruction of properties


In a determination to restore peace and order in Effium community, Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State has imposed a 4 pm to 8 am curfew in the area with effect from Sunday, January 24, until normalcy returns to the community. Umahi gave the order on Sunday in a statement signed by the Commissioner for Information, Barr. In the statement, Umahi condemned the unabated violence and wanton destruction of lives and property in Effium community. He directed security agencies to ensure the strict enforcement of the curfew and to deal decisively with any person or group of persons involved in the killings and destruction of properties.
