The financier Ulric Kenny and businessman Ed Dunne have sold Nua Healthcare, an operator of specialised residential care homes for intellectually disabled people, to an investment group. Dunne established Nua in 2004 with one facility in Co Kildare and it has expanded to more than 50 homes nationwide, providing services to about 350 people. Nua had turnover of €53.3m in 2018 and made €1.2m in pre-tax profit, according to its latest accounts. Dunne has left Nua following the investment by Icon. The international group invests in utilities, transport and healthcare, with €2.5bn in assets under management.
