A student was on Friday shot by a stray bullet during a chase of an inmate who had escaped from Migori GK prison. Suna West MP aspirant Valentine Ogongo called for the transfer of officers at Migori GK prison for being “trigger happy” and careless with guns. Several gunshots rented the air as the warders tried to flush out the convict who was believed had sought refuge at the school's dormitory. The warders were trailing a prisoner who had escaped from their noose and had sought refuge at Migori Boys Secondary School, which is adjacent to the Migori GK Prison . On Monday police said the five demonstrators who were shot had tried to block a prisons van transporting inmates from Kehancha Law courts to Migori GK prisons.
