Ukrainian refugees receiving lower welfare rate will be trained and supported to find work

Ukrainians who come to Ireland from later this month will be trained and supported to find work. New Ukrainian arrivals will have their welfare cut later this month after the Cabinet approves laws for lower rates today. Refugees fleeing war in Ukraine will be trained and receive skills support to help them find jobs through local Intreo offices. Ukrainians receiving welfare will have to engage with the Department of Social Protection’s Public Employment Services. New Ukrainian refugees will also be given 90 days in state accommodation and be responsible for sourcing housing themselves afterwards.
