South Korea and Japan on Friday announced sanctions on individuals, organisations and ships over the weapons trade between North Korea to Russia. The US and South Korea have accused North Korea of transferring weapons to Russia to use against Ukraine. Ukrainian military bloggers and unofficial media reported a number of targets were hit throughout the peninsula. Russia’s defence ministry said on Thursday that Ukrainian rockets and drones attacked the Belgorod region. Ivan Popov, an ex-commander who was sacked after he criticised Russia’s military leaders for a high casualty rate in Ukraine, was arrested this week.
