MOSCOW: Ukrainian attacks sparked a fire at a major port in northwestern Russia, with nearly 400 drones shot down overnight, Russian authorities said on Wednesday. "A fire is being brought under control at the port of Ust-Luga," said Alexander Drozdenko, governor of Russia's Leningrad region, adding that no casualties had been reported. On Monday, Ukraine had struck and caused a fire at the port of Primorsk, also located near the Finnish border in northwest Russia. Further south in the border region of Belgorod, Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said on Wednesday "serious damage" on electricity and water facilities had been reported after a Ukrainian rocket attack. Russia had fired nearly 1,000 drones at Ukraine in 24 hours on Tuesday and unleashed one of its biggest-ever daytime attacks, Ukrainian officials said.
