President Uhuru Kenyatta has mourned former Foreign Affairs Minister Munyua Waiyaki as well as 26 people who died in a road accident at Kambu on the Nairobi – Mombasa highway on Monday night. Uhuru described the late Waiyaki as an illustrious son of Kenya and a pioneer diplomat who played a leading role in laying the foundation for the country’s post-independence development. Waiyaki has left us, his inspirational life will remain a great legacy to his family and the nation,” the President said. More on this: Former minister Munyua Waiyaki dies at 91The President also sent a message of condolence to the families, relatives, and friends of the 26 bus passengers who lost their lives in a road accident at Kambu in Kibwezi. Uhuru wished a quick recovery to those injured in the accident and are either recuperating at home or admitted in various hospitals.
