Speaking on his YouTube channel The 5TH Estate, Ngunyi stated that before 2017, the President ‘massaged’ Ruto’s ego and the latter became comfortable. ​“If Uhuru needed Ruto in 2017 then Ruto needs Uhuru in 2022. Uhuru is playing the hard-to-get games that Ruto played on him during his first term,” he opined. Ngunyi further added that if Raila plays his cards right, he might stand a chance in 2022 and Ruto will be on the losing end. “Ruto should remember that there are no permanent friends in politics…you only have permanent interests, and if those interests change, he (Ruto) should adjust his expectations,” he remarked.
