President Uhuru Kenyatta on Friday attended an Azimio event for the first time since handing over power to President William Ruto. He made the move in the wake of escalating tension with Ruto following a recent raid at the home of his son Jomo by the government. The presence of Uhuru at the memorial service for the victims of anti-government protests could cause more friction with Ruto. Top Azimio leaders including Uhuru, Raila, Kalonzo and Narc Kenya boss Martha Karua will be attending the service that will be led by the clergy. A number of family members of the alleged victims have also been invited.
