President Uhuru Kenyatta and US billionaire Dr Fisk Johnson have inked deal to revive pyrethrum exports from Kenya. Uhuru welcomed the partnership, terming it a boost in the fight against malaria in Kenya and across the region. In Kenya, Pyrethrum is grown in 18 counties including Nakuru Nyandarua and West Pokot. In October 2021, the World Health Organisation (WHO) declared that the world's first malaria vaccine was ready. "Malaria has been with us for millennials, and the dream of a malaria vaccine has been a long-held but unattainable dream.
