The fund raiser held in support of their August bid reportedly raised a whopping KSh 1 billion, and in less than two hours. Also, attendees were not allowed to give their contributions during the fund raiser as the guests were only allowed to show proof of cash deposits made prior to the event. The gold section parted with KSh 5 million, the silver section contributed KSh 2.5 million and the bronze paid KSh 1 million. The lowest section in the fund raising dinner was the garnet which parted with KSh 500,000, a local daily reports. Uhuru is seeking a second term in the General Election scheduled for August amid an onslaught by his National Super Alliance (NASA) counterpart Raila Odinga whose fund raiser is planned for Monday, June 19.
