Update: Ubisoft has responded with a statement reiterating that Massive will work on both Avatar and The Division going forward, hiring new people specifically to work on the former. First, I suppose I should mention that perhaps an Avatar video game being made now isn’t quite as crazy as it sounds. Avatar is suddenly back and uh, really, really trying to be culturally relevant. One important difference between now and 2009 is that Star Wars is continuing to be Star Wars for a new generation, thanks to its acquisition by Disney. I’m not saying that an Avatar video game has no chance of being good.
