NBC NewsThis morning we learned that the previous leadership at Uber concealed a data breach last October that revealed private information about 600,000 drivers and 57 million riders. This revelation is a warning sign and cautionary tale for CEOs and other c-suite executives charged with cybersecurity, communications, customer relationships, and crisis management. Most companies believe they have a cybersecurity playbook. If a theoretical incident occurs, they have a chain of command, and perhaps some prewritten statements sitting on a shelf.
