Uber has chosen Dara Khosrowshahi, the chief executive of travel booking website Expedia, to be its new chief executive, according to a source unauthorized to comment publicly. Representatives for Uber, its board of directors and Expedia did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Uber’s board of directors interviewed dozens of potential candidates and narrowed the search to three people, according to a person with knowledge of the matter. Investors and corporate governance experts had framed the CEO search as something of a quagmire because the board was looking for one person to perform two very different tasks. Matt Cohler, a partner at Benchmark who recently took a seat on Uber's board, worked closely with IAC to steward the development of the dating app Tinder in recent years.
