Uber boss hails a ride to service station

The announcement came as former US attorney-general Eric Holder released a list of recommendations to improve Uber's toxic culture. Under Kalanick, Uber was accused of flouting rules and regulations to bring its ride-summoning service to hundreds of cities, prizing growth above all else and often turning a blind eye to corporate misbehaviour. The post set off a deluge of other complaints from staff about Uber's culture, exposing a toxic environment. The recommendations to change Uber's culture from Holder consisted of 10 main categories aimed at creating checks and balances on Uber's senior management, enhancing the board's oversight and revamping the company's internal controls. Many of the recommendations involve putting in processes to professionalise the way that Uber is run.
