Uber and Lyft ( LYFT ) even share certain large investors , and now they are going public back to back. Lyft wants to be a consumer transportation company; Uber wants to be more like Amazon. "We are solely focused on consumer transportation," Lyft cofounder John Zimmer said in a video pitch to investors last month ahead of its IPO . Uber and Lyft are at the forefront of shaping the future of transportation, city infrastructure and even what it means to work. "Cars are to us what books are to Amazon," Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi said at one event last February.
