Tomas (UST) posted a winning start as it outlasted Adamson University, 25-21, 25-21, 24-26, 24-26, 15-6, in Season 81 University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) women’s volleyball tournament on Sunday at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City. After squandering a two-set lead, the Golden Tigresses rediscovered their sharp offense in the deciding set to seize the season-opening victory. Last year’s Rookie of the Year Milena Alessandrini added 15 points, along with five other Tigresses who contributed on the offensive end. Bernadette Flora had a team-high 14 points, Eli Soyud had 13 markers and Chiara Permentilla had 12 for Adamson in the loss.
