Recognising Jerusalem as the so-called capital of Israel takes this nut-job’s list of unbelievably brainless ding-a-lings completely into the stratosphere. I have absolutely no doubt that this is already sending US Evangelicals into bouts of ecstatic delight, and after that to the laundry with stained underwear in hand. To assume that Israel has the divine right to occupy other people’s land and subjugate their population is plain stupid, as is making a leap of superstitious faith a part of foreign policy. I do not doubt that Trump’s madministration sees this as an opportunistic act to make the alleged Commander-in-Chief look good, but where I come from we say that you can’t polish a turd.
