The 100,233 recorded cases were up from the 91,000 reported on the previous day, according to a tally by Reuters. It means the US has set a world record for the global pandemic as it surpassed India's 97,894 single-day cases reported back in September. It is the fifth time in just ten days that the country exceeded its previous single-day record of 77,299 recorded in July.
