U.S. President Joe Biden has announced $11 million in humanitarian aid to Libya to support people affected by the storm Daniel which hit the city of Derna and a number of cities in THE eastern part of the oil-rich African country. Over 11,000 people have been killed by the storm-caused floods. Local and international teams are busy trawling through the town for survivors several days after the storm hit on 10 September. The parliament-appointed government which controls much of the eastern regions has dismissed all members of the municipal council of the Derna city following protests by survivors of the floods demanding accountability. Osama Hamad, the head of the Government, made the decision on Monday September 18.
