Auburn University's Samantha Cerio final season of top-level gymnastics was cut short when she suffered the terrible fate during Saturday's (NZ time) NCAA gymnastics regional in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Cerio was just starting her floor routine when she landed awkwardly as she was trying to execute a double front flip on her first tumbling pass. They finished the first round with a score of 197.075, the highest regional score in their team's history, to advance to Sunday's regional final.
