"Trump’s focus on fossil fuels is creating problems at home with volatile gas prices pushing up power prices for Americans just as the administration steps back from the home grown renewables that would protect them. With China’s emissions seemingly starting to fall [3], and their demand for oil levelling off, not even Trump’s attempted raid on Venezuela’s oil will put the US on anything other than the back foot as the rest of the world presses on with the economic transition to net zero."
