US death toll would be HALF of what is if stay-at-home orders came four days sooner

The US daily death toll from the novel coronavirus could have been half of what it is had states acted just a few days sooner, a new study claims. Stay-at-home orders issued in mid-to-late March and recommendations to wear face masks in April have helped slow the spread of the virus, which has killed 76,718 Americans. And, if the orders had been given seven days sooner, daily new cases would have fallen to 3,000. Daily deaths, if stay-at-home orders would have issued four days sooner, would have fallen from 2,000 to 1,000. If issued seven days sooner, daily deaths would be around 300.
