US crude stocks rise to near three-year high, fuel inventories drop, EIA says


DENVER (April 8): US crude stocks rose to their highest level in almost three years last week, while fuel inventories declined on rising international demand, the Energy Information Administration said on Wednesday. Crude inventories rose by 3.1 million barrels to 464.7 million barrels in the week ended April 3, the EIA said, compared with analysts' expectations in a Reuters poll for a 701,000-barrel rise. Stocks from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve fell by 1.7 million barrels to 413.3 million barrels. Crude stocks on the US Gulf Coast were at their highest level since March 2023. Net US crude imports fell last week by 758,000 bpd, EIA said, while exports rose by 628,000 bpd to 4.15 million bpd.
