A member of staff at the US Consulate was attacked by a man outside the building on Garden Road in Central on Tuesday afternoon, police said, RTHK reports. The 44-year-old man was taken to Queen Mary Hospital following the incident at around 4pm. The consulate said its employee had been attacked by a stranger but did not have life-threatening injuries. It said it could not speculate as to what the motive was for the attack. The police said it had classified the incident as assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
