The full details of this new hardening US stance towards Pakistan had not been unfurled at the time of writing. However, this deterioration does not come as a surprise to those paying attention to the decline in our bilateral relations. In the post-9/11 scenario, Pakistan has remained unable to convince the US not to narrow its strategic relationship with Pakistan beyond its interests in Afghanistan.
