Nevertheless, he insisted that Washington was not trying to prevent investment from China on the African continent. “We are not in any way attempting to keep Chinese dollars from Africa," told a news conference in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa. This is the first time Tillerson visited the country. "But it is important that African countries carefully consider the terms of those agreements and not forfeit their sovereignty," Tillerson said, as quoted by Antara.
