There are interesting and useful things we can worry about in corporate America but that there's a cash pile of $1.84 trillion out there, as reported by Moody's, isn't one of them. Those five held a collective $594 billion, or slightly more than 32% of the total U.S. non-financial corporate cash balance as of the end of 2016, Moody's said. Apple accounted for $246 billion, or 13.4% of total corporate cash in 2016, up from $216 billion, or 12.8%, in 2015, Moody's said. Short-term investment is things like T-notes and bills, corporate cash flow management products and so on. There may be reasons why a corporate cash pile is a sign of something wrong in corporate America.
