Ambassador Sales will be in Algeria, Tunisia, and Morocco August 26-30, the release said. During his trip, Sales will discuss topics including counterterrorism cooperation, countering violent extremism, foreign terrorist fighters and information sharing, the State Department added. Terrorist groups such as Al-Qaeda and the Islamic State network (both banned in Russia) have been expanding their presence in North Africa in recent years.
