NewsUpdate: Police Chief Pujith Jayasundara who was arrested today (Oct 1) for allegedly threatening a police officer has been granted bail by the Colombo Fort Magistrate's Court. Fort Magistrate Ranga Dissanayake ordered the accused to be released on two surety bails worth Rs 200,000 each. The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) had arrested Mr. Jayasundara for verbally abusing a police official in an elevator at the Police Headquarters in 2017.
