THE number of soldiers who died in the clash with the Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) in Patikul, Sulu earlier on Friday rose to 11 while 14 others were wounded. Cirilito Sobejana, head of the Western Mindanao Command, confirmed to The Manila Times in a text message that the fatalities were part of a group conducting combat and strike operations at Sitio Bud Lubong, Barangay Danag when they encountered 40 members of the ASG at 3:05 p.m. The terrorists are believed to be under the separate commands of Radullan Sahiron and Hajan Sawadjaan.
