The victim, Md Shawkat Hossain, 38, was a member of number one ward of Mehari union parishad in Kasba upazila. Family of the deceased alleged the issue of establishing supremacy and land related disagreement caused the murder. According to locals, Siddik Master and Manik Master in the neighbourhood were at loggerheads for long over the issue in which Shawkat supported Manik Master. Shawkat was rushed to Kasba Upazila Health Complex before he was shifted to Comilla Medical College and Hospital.
