The Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh has decided to give a monthly pension of Rs 20,000 to all retired international level sportspersons in the state. Announcing this, the State Sports Minister and former Test cricketer Chetan Chauhan said that the state government has decided to pay Rs 20,000 a month to all international level players from the state once they retired. The state government would give Rs 6 crore to any player winning Gold, Rs 4 crore to Silver and Rs 2 crore Bronze medalists. The Sports minister said that the government has also decided to restart recruitment of players in government services after 25 years. He said that a quota of 2% has been fixed for players and recruitment will soon be started in 11 government departments.
