Following a failed attempt to get an FIR registered on her gang-rape complaint, a woman reached the Aligarh senior superintendent of police’s office on Thursday with a startling piece of evidence – a severed ear. The woman told HT that she was sleeping with her children on Monday night, when four people from the neighbourhood entered their residence and raped her. “I have ordered the Gonda police to investigate the matter,” said senior superintendent of police (Aligarh) Rajesh Pandey. When the local police failed to act on her complaint, she visited the senior superintendent of police’s office – where she fainted. The woman told HT that the person in question had allegedly murdered her husband four years ago.
