UP: Yoga teachers not paid their remuneration

As many as 287 yoga teachers who trained aspirants for a month before Yoga Day on June 21, 2017 before Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s programme at Rama Bai Ambedkar rally ground in Lucknow, are still running from pillar to post for their remuneration (Rs 13,000). A teacher in Lucknow University Amarjeet Yadav, who also runs a yoga institute, has shot a letter to the Ayush department to release the payments of all the 287 yoga teachers. The letter says that the yoga trainers worked day and night to train aspirants ahead of the Yoga Day but today they were disappointed because of this treatment. Secretary, Ayush department Yatendra Mohan admitted that payment of yoga teachers was due, as the department was yet to receive funds from the Ayush ministry. Let us hope that yoga teachers will be respected and given a certificate and money soon by the government.”
