A 300-level student of the University of Ilorin, identified as Blessing Olajide, was allegedly raped and murdered in her room in the Tanke area of Ilorin, Kwara State. Olajide, who until her death, was a student of the Agricultural Science Department, hailed from Oke-Opin in the Ekiti Local Government Area of the state. The Director of Corporate Affairs, UNILORIN, Alhaji Kunle Akogun, said he had not been briefed about the incident when contacted by our correspondent on Thursday. “Our men were mobilised to the scene and they evacuated the corpse and took it to the hospital for autopsy. Reacting to the development, a lawmaker in the state, Ganiyu Abolarin, representing the Ekiti State Constituency in he state House of Assembly, decried the growing insecurity in the state, demanding the immediate investigation, apprehension and prosecution of the culprits.
