Representatives from the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) have extended their hand to help evacuees from Marawi City. This comes as residents displaced by the Marawi siege try to produce Identification Cards (IDs) so they can return to their homes. Most of the evacuees are currently staying in Iligan City. This is to prevent lawless elements and remnants of Maute terrorists to mingle with returning residents. Over 230,000 residents were displaced by the invasion of Maute terrorists in Marawi City last May.
