UN sets out Paris-style plan to cut extinction rate by factor of 10

Scientists have warned that humanity is causing the sixth mass extinction in the planet’s history, driven by overconsumption of resources and overpopulation. The plan includes the goal of protecting 30% of the world’s oceans by 2030. “Overall, the paper recognises and addresses all of the key issues, as did the 20 Aichi targets.
