Since November, Amhara forces have forcibly expelled thousands of Tigrayans older people, children, and women. Last week we documented how Tigrayan forces extrajudicially executed dozens of civilians in just two small towns in the Amhara region in September. As the UN high commissioner and the Ethiopian human rights commissioner pointed out, the joint investigation report was not comprehensive. Accountability efforts have been inadequate, encouraging abuses. A human tragedy is unfolding before our eyes, in Tigray, in the Amhara region, in Afar, in Oromia.
