His response came after UN Secretary General Guterres's comment expressing concern over the situation in Jammu and Kashmir. Guterres, who is on a visit to Pakistan, said he was ready to help if both countries agreed for mediation. Jammu and Kashmir has been, is, and will continue to be an integral part of India. The UN chief during his visit to Pakistan will attend an international conference on Afghan refugees and visit the Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib. He emphasised the importance to "de-escalate, both militarily and verbally" while talking about relations between Pakistan and India.
