Members of the UN-backed Structured Dialogue on Libya are continuing their work during the month of Ramadan through online meetings and working groups, as they prepare recommendations to be presented at the end of the process in June, according to the UN Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL). The governance track is examining election governance and local governance as entry points to discussions on constitutional and legal frameworks ahead of further deliberations after the Eid al-Fitr holiday. Meanwhile, the security track is holding weekly online meetings to prepare briefing reports on security sector governance, which will be discussed at the next in-person session scheduled for April, the mission said. Female members of the dialogue, including women with disabilities, also held two online sessions under the Libyan Women’s Gathering, focusing on coordination and women’s priorities in the process. UNSMIL said it had launched an online survey and a digital youth platform during Ramadan to gather views and proposals from the public for inclusion in the process.
