UN Women, WDO to jointly work to prevent VAWG


BigstockThe collaboration aims at addressing violence against women and girls through the lens of designThe UN Women in Asia and the Pacific, and the World Design Organization (WDO) have decided to support the prevention of violence against women and girls (VAWG). And while enacting systemic change is difficult, evidence shows that violence against women can be reduced in years, not generations as previously thought. Mohammad Naciri, regional director of UN Women Asia and the Pacific, said violence against women and girls is one of the greatest injustices of their time, which crosses all borders, generations, nationalities, and communities. We are in constant search of innovative and creative solutions to move people emotionally and act to end violence against women in Asia and the Pacific. Stopping this violence benefits women, children and families, as well as the communities and societies.
