Homes and businesses have been hit by 'biblical' downpours with threats of more extreme weather to come as Storm Ellen, which contains the remnants of Storm Kyle, heads to the UK this evening. Tonight:Storm Ellen will bring some very strong winds to some western parts of the UK, with bands of rain moving north and east, followed by clear spells. Thursday:Windy with risk of gales for some western parts at first. Rain clearing the north and east, then sunny spells, but further showers then rain in the west later. Over the weekend winds fall light and showers becoming confined to central areas, with most places remaining dry.
