The Met Office has put yellow warnings in place covering England, Wales and Scotland on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. It could cause travel chaos, with lightening strikes, hail and strong winds likely to bring misery across the UK. The Met Office has also warned of possible damage to buildings. A Met Office spokesman said: "Unsettled, very warm and humid weather is likely to continue for many through Tuesday with showers breaking out, especially in the south. "The fresh east winds spread over Scotland later on Monday, falling light further south leaving a muggy night before the heat could really build on Tuesday and temperatures may reach into the 30s.
