Weather maps show air blowing from Portugal to Britain while the Met Office has confirmed highs climbing from 8C to 14C - 4C above average for some - by Wednesday across the UK. The Met Office forecasts mostly dry conditions for 10 days, going some way to cheering the country as it stays home and enjoys time in the garden. The Weather Outlook forecaster Brian Gaze said: "Sunshine will help boost the mood, with an extended period of settled and dry conditions after recent months' widespread flooding." A Met Office forecaster said: "It looks fine and dry for many from Sunday. From 6pm today until midday on Wednesday heavy persistent rain may lead to impacts from flooding, warns the Met Office.
