He began combat in 2014 when he was living in a Kurdish enclave in northern Syria – known as Rojava. Azad Cudi, now a British citizen and living in a Yorkshire town, has spoken of his battles. He told The Sun Online Kurdish forces in their enclave found themselves facing an ISIS onslaught in the town of Kobani by September 2014. Now Azad hopes to return to Kobani to help the Kurdish community there rebuild after years of devastation. He has written a book My Life As A Sniper In The Fight Against ISIS in which he recounts his experiences.
