England reported 19 new deaths, Wales had three, Northern Ireland recorded one and Scotland reported no new deaths for the fourth consecutive day. The number of deaths announced on Mondays is usually lower due to a lag in reporting fatalities over the weekend. The latest increase is the second lowest total announced on a Monday in lockdown after 21 fatalities were reported on June 22. A further 19 people who tested positive for coronavirus have died in hospital in England, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 28,672, NHS England said. The total number of people who have died under the measurement remains at 2,482.
