England reported another 3,316 infections, Scotland 222, Wales 286 and Northern Ireland 220, taking the total number of cases in Britain to 439,013. It is the lowest rise in cases since Sunday, September 20 when 3,899 new cases were reported in a 24-hour period. Last Monday, the number of new coronavirus cases grew by 4,386, which was the highest rise on a Monday since April 20. It means the total number of people to have died in hospitals across England now stands at 28,818. There are 122 people in hospital confirmed to have the virus, up by 17 in 24 hours.
