Despite relaxing the rules Mr Johnson admitted the pandemic is "far from over", adding "It certainly won't be over by the 19th". He said 50,000 cases a day may be recorded by July 19, adding bluntly: "We must reconcile ourselves, sadly, to more deaths from Covid."
