LONDON (AP) " Britain's anti-doping agency was criticized on Monday for how it handled the case of a doctor who allegedly supplied performance-enhancing drugs to athletes. The findings were announced after an independent investigation into U.K. Anti-Doping's handling of the intelligence it received about London-based doctor Mark Bonar from amateur cyclist Dan Stevens. "This case has been challenging but as a publicly-funded body it is absolutely correct that UKAD should be held to account," Kenworthy said. Andy Ward, a former senior police official, headed the investigation and rebuked UKAD for failing to contact Britain's General Medical Council, a regulatory body, to check on the allegations against Bonar. "It is clear that opportunities to gather intelligence, secure evidence, and investigate Bonar have been missed," Ward's report said.
